Alistair Sutherland

Although he reached Continuing Instructor status within the organisation, he wished to expand his knowledge and ability by studying other styles of Tai Chi and in particular the martial aspects of the art. As this is an aspect not encouraged by the Taoist Tai Chi Society, he left the organisation.

So began a new phase in a training journey that was to lead him to study with Master Lam Kam Chuen. He currently studies with Shelagh Grandpierre, one of the UK's foremost teachers of traditional Yang Family T'ai Chi Ch'uan as taught by Yang Zhen Ji.

As well as T'ai Chi Ch'uan, Alistair has also studied Traditional Yang Family Sword and Sabre. He has also studied Zhan Zhuang and Yi Chuan. He teaches a variety of Qigong forms including Tai Chi Ruler and Harmony of the Five Elements.

He is and Advanced Level 3 Instructor on the Register of Exercise Professionals and a Grade "A" Instructor with the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain.

Alistair is now a Professional Instructor member of Fitness Scotland and listed on the National Register of Fitness Instructors.
